Northern Elastic was formed in 1998 to take the play Filthy Lies to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and was then resurrected in 2001 for Granny Must Die, also in Edinburgh. We left it a few years and then got back together to produce a series of plays at Manchester’s prestigious 24:7 Theatre Festival: Detox Mansion (2004), Lovesick (2005), Granny Must Die (New version 2008), and The Last Chair (2009). More details can be found in these very pages.
We have also performed script in hand / rehearsed readings of a number of plays, and had 2, Well Groomed and Fringe Quartet, performed at a local theatre in Audenshaw, Manchester.
Fast forward to 2011… and we’re back. New website, new faces, new plays – and plenty of old stuff too.
Welcome to our world, which is very northern and a little bit rubbery.
Enjoy the trip. For it is a trip.
